Gemini is a talented individual on the mic and behind the boards as well. Now I went to pick his brain like I do my nose to see what I’ma find, check out the interview I did with him below:

MduzaVanGogh :What made you start nucklehead media?

Gemini_The Tumour :I pretty much started as an artist trying to get in the industry but no one was interested in managing me so I had to do the task myself which lead to me managing others, once that happend I realised that I was good at it so I made it official by registering Nuckle Head Brand Management.

MduzaVanGogh :Are you the sole founder of it or you partnered with someone?

Gemini_The Tumour :Yes I run it completely independent

MduzaVanGogh :What else does nucklehead do besides music, ’cause we haven’t really been exposed to the other things ya’ll do?

Gemini_The Tumour :Music so far has being the focal point but it also does events and has clothing brand. Those aspects will b more visible from June when I start doing monthly Nuckle Head Parties…

MduzaVanGogh :As a young person doing it, do ya’ll receive funding from other organisations?

Gemini_The Tumour :So far its being solely out of my pocket, I’ve had a few sponsorship offers which haven’t materialized yet.

MduzaVanGogh :When is your solo tape dropping Gemini?

Gemini_The Tumour :I’m dropping in June and its titled “Split Personality”, 80% of the production will be handled by me while the rest I’m getting different producers to jump on.

MduzaVanGogh :You’re a very dope rapper, it baffles me why you take the back seat at Nucklehead…instead of pulling a 50 and lead the Unit…you’re arguably the dopest rapper there if not 2nd best…

Gemini_The Tumour :I wanted to give the management aspect enough of my time and effort before being in the spotlight that way everyone gets their fair “shine” and we can move together as a strong force/unit.

MduzaVanGogh :Is Blu signed to ya’ll or he’s an artist you love working with?

Gemini_The Tumour :He’s more of an friend/affiliate and not signed under Nuckle Head but we work closely.

MduzaVanGogh :How many artists are signed with Nucklehead, is it only 4?

MduzaVanGogh :What’s the most hate you’ve received so far?

Gemini_The Tumour :To think of it I’ve actually haven’t received any up front hate ey, I’m sure others do hate on my progress lol but they’ve done it behind closed doors for now. I guess I’ll only know and see it if I fail/fall then they’ll make it clear smh

MduzaVanGogh :Who influences your production style, ’cause you make some pretty cool beats?

Gemini_The Tumour :NO ID, Kanye West, Baby Face, Bongani Fassie, Ivy League, Octave Couple, Aby Crazy, Dr Dre, Akon, T Pain, Timberland the list is endless …. What I try do is not emulate any producer by creating my own sound and trademark which is not easy though.

MduzaVanGogh :what’s been the most memorable moment as an artist so far?

Gemini_The Tumour :Getting messages or twitter inbox’s from prominent industry guys who acknowledge my work ethic and the hustle I’m putting in!

MduzaVanGogh :And the worst…?

Gemini_The Tumour :It would have to be when event promoters don’t treat my artists with respect or try exploit my artists at shows by not paying or doing what they agreed to.

MduzaVanGogh :If you were to go on tour with an artist from Mzansi, any artist, who would it be?

Gemini_The Tumour :HHP or Teargas

MduzaVanGogh :Why haven’t you signed Griffy, since ya’ll work together a lot?

Gemini_The Tumour :Griff is already a strong focused independent hustler so we just push together where we can and plus I can’t really manage a lot of artists at the same time as its going to compromise on the quality of work but he’s practically part of the fam.

MduzaVanGogh :How would you rate the game here in SA on a scale of one to ten?

Gemini_The Tumour :6 and that’s cause we support in every other aspect (events, clothing, downloading) but when it comes to buying original music there’s far less support.

MduzaVanGogh :What can we expect from Nucklehead in the near future?

Gemini_The Tumour : Dizzy Man Ape is doing he’s music video next month and dropping he’s mixtape Fortune OVA Fame in April, my beat tape is also dropping in April, my mixtape drops in June and Devour is dropping her mixtape Vinegar Lakes in September. Beyond the music side I plan on hosting a Nuckle Head Radio show on a internet radio station, Nuckle Head Parties start in June aswel as Nuckle Head Winter Range (hoodies and sweaters)

I’m really passionate about this country and what it has to offer. I love South African art and the culture. South African film has produced some amazing movies and its unfortunate that the industry hasn’t had the support it needs.

I got a chance to speak to a gentleman who is at the forefront of that change in the film industry. He has worked on various local production and a movie that hit the Big Screen last year called “Skyf”.
His name is Motheo Moeng. Here is an extract of the interview I had with him :

MVG :When did your journey as a film-maker start?

Motheo Moeng : Great question to start of an Interview… I’m glad you refer to it as a journey. The journey began in 2006 when i enrolled 2 study film and Major in Cinematography at AFDA (National college of motion picture medium and live performance), prior to that i did a full-time diploma course in Photography. so much love for images began there…

MVG :Where are you from originally?

Motheo Moeng : I’m originally from Cape town from a great neighborhood called “Gugulethu”. i was born and raised there then moved to Pretoria for high school and Photography then later Joburg to become a film-maker.

MVG :What’s your take on the film industry in Africa?

Motheo Moeng : The film industry in Afrika is on a rise, the last 5 years have shown a growth that has been so inspirational. There is a serious energy and vibe about Afrikan film. The great thing about Afrikan cinema is the fact that its stories are authentic and non-ending. The diversity of the continent is incredible. I do believe that we are still have a few years behind in the commercial sense of it but creatively we are just as talented as anyone else. There have been some great films being done here recently which have stood on their own internationally. To name a few that i think have opened the door: “Viva Riva”, “District 9″,  ”Tsotsi”, “Catch a fire”, “Inside story” and “Sometimes in April” thats to name a few…

MVG :In SA compared to the rest of Africa?

Motheo Moeng : It is difficult to compare because of the different economic circumstances we find ourselves in, having said that the Nigerian film industry is a million dollar industry whereby many people survive from it. In South African i feel we still at a stage whereby the corporate distributors still have too much of an influence in outcome of films in the sense that the percentage they take from the movies is unrealistic for people to continue making films. There are new avenues being created though whereby independent film-makers are finding channels to self distribute and take the movies into smaller cinemas where people are going.

MVG :What do you feel needs to be done to improve the industry?

Motheo Moeng : This is a difficult question in the sense that as a film-maker my instinct is to blame corporates and tell them to give us more money or a little bit of money actually.  Its important for us to start mobilizing people to actually go to the movies. Its a fact that the majority of people who go to the Cinema are of a higher LSM grade, which is the minority of the people in the country. This might be a bit controversial but i think South African films need to be slightly cheaper at the cinema then international film so that the masses actually watch the local films. Currently the problem is that the movies (Local & International) are the same price so people automatically assume that the international movie will have more value and it will be better so they end up watching those. 

MVG :What challenges are you facing as directors?

Motheo Moeng : Well i’m a Cinematographer but having friends who are Directors i know the challenges they encounter. First of all because of how young the industry is its still difficult for people to be convinced and to see the magnitude of film as a medium and the overall influence it can have on the people and on the economy. So Directors find themselves with Ideas and scripts that have no funding and they end up working on Television shows which is not always their primary option but because of circumstances and the need for regular income they end up staying there and never making films. Our Commercials industry though is right up there with best in the world so many Directors end up going into commercials which are fun because you get to play with the best toys as you are working with bigger budgets.

MVG :You worked on the local movie “Skyf”, what was your role there and how did that change your life?

Motheo Moeng : WOW!!!, what an amazing experience. I was the D.O.P (Cinematographer) for the film.  It was life changing in the sense that it made people believe in the fact getting off your bum and making films independently was very possible, we managed to also get a buzz around about the film due to the great ensemble cast we had and an overall determined crew with very little resources. It began as just an idea the Writer/Director: Lungelo Mdlalose had for a short film and it just grew into a wonderful feature. We shot the film predominantly hand held on the Canon 5D and 7D camera’s. so that in itself was challenging because we had a limited crew and such luxuries like focus pullers were non-existent.

MVG :How did it do on the local Box Office?

Motheo Moeng : We’ll find out soon, its set to release through Nu Metro soon. It was initially going to be released as a Ster-Kinekor film then after premiering we couldn’t agree on the term & Conditions.

MVG :Was it taken to any international fests(if so how was it received)?

Motheo Moeng : We haven’t sent the film to festivals yet as we were still in negotiations with the distributor but soon we’ll be hitting all of them worldwide. It will be interesting to see and hear people views on in internationally. the movie has a lot edge to it and its shot very stylistically (many rules broken).

MVG :What other projects have you worked on?

Motheo Moeng : i have worked on some short films, one of them (In A Time without Love) actually won best short film at the Durban International film festival 2010. “Skyf” was my 1st feature film then i did a comedy documentary feature called “Triple O” then i had the opportunity to work as 2nd camera/2nd Unit on a new film called “Blitz Patrollie” i’m currently shooting a new nationwide comedy tour which is a film about some comedians touring the country and their crazy experiences. 

MVG :In the past 3-5years I’ve come across a lot of young people that love film or that say they do, do you think they really love film or money is the main motivation?

Motheo Moeng : First of all if your initially motivation for getting into film is to be rich then you have another thing coming. You only make money when you are passionate about it. also your realise that your love for film out ways the money, i sometimes still cant believe i get paid to do this. its just so fun…

MVG : In SA we don’t have directors like Scorsese or QT or Spielberg, most people don’t even know local directors or filmmakers, do you find it difficult to actually get through young filmmakers heads, ’cause they don’t know you or haven’t seen your work?

Motheo Moeng : The Directors you have mentioned are a great references to get people into films but also not all the shows people watch locally are done by them and people still watch… the fact that the Directors aren’t popular and well known is also an advantage and something we need to use to our best potential, this shows that the market is still untouched and has so much room to blow up.

MVG : Who is your favorite director in Mzansi and why?

Motheo Moeng : I have a few: Rolie Nikiwe (Inside story) is very exciting, he is very much into storytelling and getting the best performance out of his actors. He has worked his way up the industry so he knows the hard work that is required.i also like Mark Strydom (In a Time without Love), he is a young Director currently working at one of the popular Commercial production cimpanies and his knowledge and ideas for storytelling is incredible he has great vision and is able to tell stories through images so well without relying too much on dialogueThe other one is Lungelo Mdlalose (Skyf),he comes from a Cinematography background. i like the fact that he is always willing to break the conventional rules and try out something new.  His understanding for Cinema is very artistic and we often have happy mistakes occur when we work together.

MVG : What or who inspires you?

Motheo Moeng : I’m inspired by God (Jah, The Almighty), films, traveling, friends and Family. Without God, i wouldn’t have the love and passion i have. My inspiration occurs in different ways, i have friends from all over and they have helped shaped how i view things.  also love to travel and see different cultures that helps me broaden the depth of my images. i’m also hugely inspired by movies and Cinematographers like: Christopher Doyle, Emmanuel Lubeski, Rob Malpage, Werner Maritz and Rodrigo Priento. My family plays a huge role too because of their belief in me…

MVG : Top 5 movies of all time?

Motheo Moeng : This is very difficult… you should have said 20.To name a few: “Amores Perros”, “Blindness”, “Closer”, “In the mood for Love”, “The Matrix”, “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” and “Kite Runner .There are so many i left out…  

MVG : Who would you mostly love to work with in the future ?

Motheo Moeng : I’d would love to work with Mos Def, i think he’s an amazing actor with enormous potential. infact i have an idea for a film that i’d like him to be the lead. I would also like to work with Rolie Nikiwe again. some of the people i have in mind are Cinematographers too so i’d like to just be in their space and learn from their film sets. eg: Robert Richardson, Werner Maritz and Christopher Doyle.

MVG : Have you done any music videos?

Motheo Moeng : Yeah, i’ve done a few music video’s they are a great way 2 experiment. I’ve shot music video’s for Ntando, K.B, Zuluboy, and some Nigerian artists.

MVG : What should we look out for from the film industry in 2012…on the Big screens/small screen and development wise?

Motheo Moeng : its exciting times, i start pre-production on 2 big films set to be shot later on in the year and overall there are many local films being done for small screen and big screen that people have to look forward to.

MVG :…Wise words for the future film maker?

Motheo Moeng : “Impossible and nothing” there are infinite possibilities.

Another day, another Chris Brown Twitter drama. Country singer Miranda Lambert lambasted Brown and the Grammys for allowing him to perform in light of his assault on Rihanna in 2009. She continued her verbal and PR assault on Brown at one of her concerts. While Brown was relatively quiet in regards to her specific comments, he spoke out the best way he knows how yesterday: his oft-controversial Twitter account.

At a concert on Thursday (Feb. 16) at the University of Massachusetts, Lambert was about to launch into her song ‘Gunpowder and Lead,’ about a woman who kills her abusive husband. Before she began the tune, per E! Online, she spotted a sign in the audience that read ‘Take Notes Chris Brown.’ Lambert held the poster up, and, in what can arguably be considered an antagonistic move, instructed her crowd to take photos and tweet them.

And tweet them they did. Her photo above went viral quickly, and word eventually got to Breezy, who, as expected, didn’t take it well.

“Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out!” he tweeted on Saturday (Feb. 18). He immediately followed it with, “Go buy @miranda_lambert album! So motivational and ‘PERFECT’!”

Lambert isn’t the only one who can’t forgive Brown for the ill-fated 2009 pre-Grammy incident. Music editors and fans alike went nuts when it was announced that Brown would feature on Rihanna’s ‘Birthday Cake’ remix. Brown responded to that backlash, as usual, on Twitter as well, writing, 

“Let them be mad!!!! We make music. Don’t like it, don’t listen! Turn up the music remix is coming soon too! Guess who’s on it?”

While we agree that Lambert may be capitalizing on Brown’s notoriety, we do wish he’d learn to let things go. Perhaps if he had a little more self-control and self-censorship, the world would forgive him as easily as Rihanna did.

A young guy was complaining to his Boss about the problems he was having with his stubborn girlfriend.

“She gets me so angry sometimes I could hit her, the young man exclaimed.”

“Well, I’ll tell you what I used to do with my wife” replied the Boss. “Whenever she got out of hand I’d take her pants down and spank her”.

Shaking his head the young guy replied “I’ve tried that… it doesn’t work for me. Once I get her pants down I’m not mad anymore.”

There’s an old couple, both in their 70′s, on a sentimental holiday back to the place where they first met. They’re sitting in a pub and he says to her, “Do you remember the first time we had sex together over fifty years ago? We went behind the barn. You leaned against the fence and I made love to you from behind.”

“Yes, she says, I remember it well.” she replies.

“OK, he says, How about taking a stroll round there again and we can do it for old times sake?”

Smiling his wife responds, “Oh Henry, you devil, that sounds like a good idea, she answers.”

There’s a man sitting at the next table listening to all this, having a chuckle to himself. He thinks, I’ve got to see this, two old timers having sex against a fence. So he follows them.

They walk haltingly along, leaning on each other for support, aided by walking sticks. Finally they get to the back of the barn and make their way to the fence. The old lady lifts her skirt, takes her knickers down and the old man drops his trousers. She turns around and hangs on to the fence and the old man moves in. Suddenly they erupt into the most furious sex the watching man has ever seen. They are bucking and jumping like eighteen-year-olds. This goes on for about forty minutes. She’s yelling Ohhh God! He’s hanging on to her hips for dear life.

This is the most athletic sex imaginable. Finally, they both collapse panting on the ground. The guy watching is amazed. He thinks he has learned something about life that he didn’t know. He starts to think about his own aged parents and wonders whether they still have sex like this.

After about half an hour of lying on the ground recovering, the old couple struggle to their feet and put their clothes back on. The guy, still watching thinks, That was truly amazing, he was going like a train. I’ve got to ask him what his secret is.

As the couple pass, the guy says to them, “That was something else, you must have been shagging for about forty minutes. How do you manage it? Is there some sort of secret?”

“No, there’s no secret, the old man says, except fifty years ago that fucking fence wasn’t electrified.”

Two friends meet in the office of one of them, a notorious techno-geek.

“Hey, bud, how are ya?”

“I’m good. Congratulations, that new secretary of yours is beautiful!”

“Well, I’m glad you like her. Believe it or not, she’s a robot!”

“No way, how could that be?”

“Way! She’s the latest model from Japan. Lemme tell you how she works. If you squeeze her left tit, she takes dictation. If you squeeze her right tit, she types a letter. And that’s not all, she can have sex, too!”

“Holy shit! You’re kidding, right?”

“No, she’s something, huh? Tell you what, you can even borrow her.”

So, his friend takes her into the restroom and is in there with her for a while. Suddenly, he hears him screaming “Eeeeyaaaaa! Heeelp” Ooooooh! Aaaaaaah! eeeeeeeeeaaargghhhh!”

The guy says, “Shit! I forgot to tell him her ass is a pencil sharpener!”

Every year at the state fair Paul entered the lottery for the brand new truck and lost. This year, he told his friend David, he wasn’t going to bother and enter.

“What kind of attitude is that?” David asked. He leaned closer and whispered, “What you need, pal, is faith. Look around and see if the good Lord sends you a message.”

Strolling around the fair, Paul grew more and more despondent as the drawing neared. Nothing struck him, no divine inspiration, no sign from God.

Finally, while he was passing old Mrs. Kelleher’s pie stand, he glanced over and saw the woman bending down. She wasn’t wearing any panties, and suddenly her ass began to glow. While trying to escape through Pakistan, Osama Bin Laden found a bottle on the sand and picked it up. Suddenly, a female genie rose from the bottle and with a smile said,

“Master, may I grant you one wish?”

Osama responded, “You ignorant, unworthy daughter-of-a-dog! Don’t you know who I am? I don’t need any common woman giving me anything.”

The shocked genie said, “Please, I must grant you a wish or I will be returned to that bottle forever.”

Osama thought a moment, then grumbled about the impertinence of the woman and said, “Very well, I want to awaken with three American women in my bed in the morning. So just do it and be off with you.” The annoyed genie said, “So be it!” and disappeared.

The next morning Bin Laden woke up in bed with Lorena Bobbitt, Tonya Harding, and Hillary Clinton at his side. His penis was gone, his knees were broken, and he had no health insurance.

Mike walks into a bar and sees Pat sitting at the end of the bar with a great big smile on his face. Mike says, “Pat, what are you so happy for?”

In yet another sad turn of events in the light of Whitney Houston‘s death, her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, allegedly got high following her mother’s funeral.The Daily Beast reports that while Houston’s family and friends gathered a restaurant following the memorial service, it was all too much for Bobbi Kristina, who “simply disappeared,” and was found later on in her hotel room “getting high.” It is unclear what drugs she may have been using.

“Everyone was freaking out and calling Bobbi Kristina’s cell,” a family friend told the Daily Beast. “It was so much commotion and activity after the funeral that Bobbi Kristina just slipped away. Ms. Cissy [Houston, Whitney’s mother] was beside herself.”

A family spokesperson denied the claims, but admits Bobbi Kristina slipped away. “There was some confusion about Bobbi Kristina’s whereabouts last night for a short time, but she’s OK,” the rep said. “She needed some time alone.” The rep said that Bobbi Kristina isn’t on drugs, but is understandably emotionally fragile. “She is going through a very hard time as you can expect.”

While we certainly hope Bobbi Kristina is on the straight and narrow, recent reports have suggested otherwise. Family and friends desperately want Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter in rehab, but are giving her time to grieve her mother before beginning an in-patient treatment.

Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized twice immediately following her mother’s death, once for stress and once for mixing alcohol with prescription sedatives — the same combination that likely killed Houston. There were even reports that Bobbi Kristina had an eerily similar bathtub incident before her mother’s passing.

Bobby Brown released a statement on his Bobbi Kristina’s health following her hospitalizations. “Today my daughter did visit with doctors at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles,” he said of her hospitalization. “She has been released and is presently with my family, including her siblings. Obviously the death of her mother is affecting her, however, we will get through this tragedy as a family. Again, I ask for privacy during this time.”

One good thing Bobbi Kristina has to her benefit? Her grandmother, Cissy Houston. “She had the people she loved and love her the most around,” a source said of Bobbi Kristina at the funeral. “Ms. Cissy was holding on tight and watching her every move.”

“It’s a horrible situation for everybody,” the family friend continued. “They tried to save Whitney, and it didn’t work. Now with Bobbi Kristina, they fear the same thing is happening again and they won’t be able to stop it either. Bobbi Kristina is all Ms. Cissy has left of Whitney. She’s so tired, but she’s ready to fight again to save her grandbaby.”

A man entered a restaurant and sat at the only open table. As he sat down, he knocked the spoon off the table with his elbow. A nearby waiter reached into his shirt pocket, pulled out a clean spoon, and set it on the table. The diner was impressed. “Do all the waiters here carry spoons in their pockets?”

The waiter replied, “Yes. Ever since an Efficiency Expert visited our restaurant… He determined that 17.8% of our diners knock the spoon off the table. By carrying clean spoons with us, we save trips to the kitchen.”

The diner ate his meal. As he was paying the waiter, he commented, “Forgive the intrusion, but do you know that you have a string hanging from your fly?”

The waiter replied, “Yes, we all do. Seems that the same Efficiency Expert determined that we spend to much time washing our hands after using the men’s room. So, the other end of that string is tied to my penis. When I need to go, I simply pull the string, do my thing, and then return to work. Having never touched myself, there really is no need to wash my hands. Saves a lot of time.”

“Wait a minute,” said the diner, “how do you get your penis back in your pants?”

“Well, I don’t know about the other guys, but I use the spoon.”

The producers of Rihanna‘s next single “Birthday Cake” weren’t kidding when they told MTV that the featured artist on the track would “shock the world.”

The word on the curb is that Chris Brown is that featured artist, and popular NYC radio personality Miss Info has confirmed with not just one, but two sources that “Rihanna has Chris featured on the song.”

Recently, the song’s co-producers, Da Internz, hinted to MTV News, that “the feature on [the remix] is gonna shock the world.” They didn’t exaggerate.

Your girl Info confirmed with two independent sources that Rihanna has Chris Brown featured on the song. He recorded both a singing verse, and a rap verse. (We’ll see if both of those verses make the final song.)

Earlier this week producers Da Interns revealed to MTV News that the single will be released in about a week or so.

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped centimeters from a shop window.

For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, “Look mate, don’t ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!” The passenger apologized and said, “I didn’t realize that a little tap would scare you so much. “The driver replied, “Sorry, it’s not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver. I’ve been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years.”
